About Pediatric Crowns

Why Your Child Needs a Dental Crown

Since the enamel of baby teeth is thinner than that of permanent teeth, decay can spread rapidly between teeth. Crowns can be used not only to save the decayed tooth, but can also help prevent the spread of decay and infection to other areas of the mouth or body. Crowns restore a tooth's shape, size, and function.

Why Pediatric Teeth Are Restored

When baby teeth are extracted early because of decay or damage, there can be serious consequences. Baby teeth are important because they:

  • Help to guide permanent teeth into place
  • Allow children to chew their food
  • Act as space holders for permanent teeth
  • Help with speech development

Zirconia Kinder Krowns

Zirconia Kinder Krowns® were seamlessly designed to combine ease of placement with unrivaled esthetics. The material mimics the appearance of real teeth and allows light and color from adjacent natural teeth to pass through its surface and refract — blending in quite well with the natural dentition. Additional benefits: chemical and stain resistance, and biocompatibility.

Custom Solutions

Special Needs & Patient-Specific Crowns

Whether your office is digital or not, you can still give your patients the best treatment possible.

Patient-Specific Kinder Krowns®

  • If our XL anterior or posterior crowns won't work for a specific case, we can do custom restorations.
  • Simply take and send a scan or take measurements off your digital x-ray of the tooth to be crowned.
  • Fill out our RX form with the desired shade, height, buccal-lingual and mesial-distal widths.

Patient-Specific Crown Form Matrix

We provide a simple way to restore peg laterals (and peg canines). Simply send us a PVS impression, model or digital scan and we'll create a snap-on matrix that can be used to inject or pack composite for the crown form.
