They have seen the way the industry has evolved throughout the years and have embraced digital innovation. Through our laboratory network, they are able to ensure success for all our dental laboratory partners.
Kay Hayden
President
Kay Hayden oversees day to day Operations & Administration for Apex labs. Kay has a great deal of experience in sales and marketing as well as all administrative functions in running a laboratory. She has a degree in Marketing & Communication, and she spent 14 years in sales and marketing outside of the lab industry before joining Chmel Dental Laboratory. Kay currently serves as the President of the Midwest Dental Laboratory Association (MDLA).
Charles McClemens
V.P./Director of Lab Operations
Charles McClemens is the Technical Director and Internal Trainer for Apex, and he brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the role. Charles is a former CDT of the year as recognized by the NBC/NADL, and he currently serves as a CDT examiner. A CDT himself in 4 specialties, Charles serves on the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA), he is a past member of the NADL's Business Management Committee and a Past President of the Florida Dental Laboratory Association. Charles served in the United States Air Force where he first learned dental technology. He then owned and operated two laboratories of his own before forming Apex.
Travis Zick
Director of Finance & Acquisitions
Travis Zick is also a very well-known figure in the dental lab industry. Prior to forming Apex, he was President of a large multi-location Midwest laboratory. During his time there, he oversaw tremendous growth, both organically through sales & marketing programs, as well as through acquisitions. He has served on several national committees, and he is currently serving as the President of the National Association of Dental Laboratories (NADL).
Gary Iocco
Co-Founder
Gary Iocco is a very familiar and recognizable person in the dental laboratory industry. Prior to forming Apex, Gary owned his laboratory, Dimension Dental Design in Hastings, MN for over 30 years. During that time, he acquired and integrated two laboratories into his lab. More visibly, Gary is the Past President of the NADL, Past President of the Midwest Dental Lab Association, Past Chair of the Foundation for Dental Laboratory Technology (FDLT), Board member of the Identalloy/Identceram Council, NADL Hall of Fame Member, and is the former Co-Chair of the NADL's "What's In Your Mouth" public relations campaign. Gary received the NADL's Hall of Fame Award, the Association's highest honor, for his contributions to the industry.
Todd Mayclin
Co-Founder
Todd Mayclin is the third member of our management team at Apex. Todd's laboratory, Mayclin Dental Studio, was founded by his father in 1966. Todd grew up in the lab business, and today his knowledge and insight, especially on the supply side, bring great advantages to Apex laboratories. Todd just completed his term as President of the Midwest Dental Laboratory Association, and he has been a delegate to the NADL. Mayclin Dental Studio is also an ISO registered manufacturing facility.
